Many Death Knights have never had a melee character, and may not know how to avoid aggro while dealing high damage and staying out of the tank’s way.

In part two, I will discuss your AoE abilities and their place in a dungeon setting, as well as covering the buttons you should never, ever push while in an instance.

I will also run down some very basic rule of thumbs for your gear and talents, as well as including a discussion about some of the group-oriented talents that you could acquire.Since day one of Wrath of the Lich King, people have been rolling Death Knight . While many seem to be getting along just great, many others are in need of guidance for cheap wow gold.

This will be a two-part article, and will focus on the things that you will need to know when working with others in a dungeon setting.

Today, I will be discussing the basic things that any meleer should know when entering a dungeon.

Patch 3.0.3 dropped on Tuesday, and lots of folks rang in on what they thought of the changes cheap wow gold. Reader Balius commented on why he thinks Druids got a talent point refund. His explanation is pretty good and makes a lot of sense: “Druids are getting talents reimbursed because some of the less-than-top tier talents now have less points available in them. ‘Earth and Moon and Moonfury (Balance) reduced from 5 ranks each to 3 ranks each.’ Since everything above that relies on having the proper amount of points in the tree, some builds simply aren’t possible without those points. Refunding all talents is the best solution.”

That dirty Orc Thrall went missing from Orgrimmar this week. He ended up coming back, spontaneously respawning across all the servers. But while he was gone there was rampant speculation as to where he went. Reader Roflpanda suggested that “He went to congratulate Obama on his victory of the presidency.” Right on. Crazyfool retorts back that Thrall actually “…moved to [the] Undermine to escape the new socialist Azerothian order.”

Anderone hinted that there might be something going on between Thrall and Jania Proudmoor again: “Has anyone checked with Jania? He’s probably snuck over to Theramore for a few hours…” Scionic chimes in: “Boom chickie lok tar.” Read the rest of this entry »

Having to run to town to respec all the time between two common specs was a burden, just like pots and drums were a burden. Very few players enjoyed having to farm consumables for their raid night. (Though to be fair, some did). Players may have enjoyed the advatantage those consumables might have given them, but of course they forget that the encounters were designed around the expectation that the group was chain potting and doing drum rotations. The encounters should be of similar difficulty, with the major change being that you don’t have to farm (as much).

Likewise, I understand that some players like having to commit to a talent spec at least for the night. Those players may feel that this is a “catering to the casuals” decision, but it’s one we think is right for the game. The different needs, for example, of PvE and PvP combat were putting a lot of constraints on the design of talent trees. Every talent needed to be very useful in both modes, which also tended to make them overbudget. That’s not the only reason for the feature, but it’s still a good one.
We won’t let you change specs within an Arena or BG, nor will we let you do it in combat of any kind. When the feature is fleshed out more, we’ll let you know more details. Read the rest of this entry »

Speaking of weaknesses, we’ll also need to pick up Avenger’s Shield, which is pretty much the only ranged pulling ability we’ve got. It’s been buffed to be instant cast, deal more damage, and its daze effect extended to 10 seconds. We like the instant cast and higher damage, but the slow is just too much icing on the cake. One of the worst parts about pulling with Avenger’s Shield is the wait between the pull and the mob finally getting to you. Good thing a lot of bosses are immune to daze mechanics. Also on the ninth tier is Touched by the Light, which converts our Stamina to spell power. We can stop rolling on all those Mage swords now. With this talent alone, everything changes, as we’ll be looking to share gear with Protection Warriors and benefit from the same mitigation and the same Stamina without our threat — which is based off spell power — taking a hit. It also has a healing bonus component which is really just gravy.

By now, most readers who’ve read my posts have seen me proselytize about Judgements. Protection Paladins have never had a problem inserting it into the spell rotation, but Judgements of the Just on tier ten makes it all the more sweet. Judging to take less hits? Yes please. Shield of the Templar is great and all, but really, we’ll skip it. By now you should already be feeling the bloat, and we’ll need to set aside five points for Deflection on the Retribution tree. Do you agree? I agree, 500 Health is almost laughable next to the mana free self heal (even on a 3 min cooldown) and passive 25 crit rating. Even at 80 Master of Anatomy should be good for at least 0.5% Crit on both spells and physical attacks.

Over the summer, Blizzard experimented with some abilities for all of the professions who buy cheap wow gold. Each ability can be found in your Spellbook under the General Skills tab. They have 6 ranks, with 5 being the maximum you are able to achieve before Wrath of the Lich King. The first rank is acquired with Journeyman or the skill of 75 and scales with your profession’s rank. So, for example, a Master Herbalist will have Rank 5 of Lifeblood. Details for each ability are after the break.

Herbalism: “Lifeblood uses your skill in Herbalism to absorb energy and nutrients from the earth.” Lifeblood is an instant heal over time spell that is self-only and mana free. The cooldown is 3 minutes. Lifeblood is useable in all forms including Shadow, Cat and Bear, but is unaffected by healing bonuses. The amount of healing over five seconds for each rank is as follows: Read the rest of this entry »

It’s also interesting to note that Death Knights are a tanking class, and tanking got the revamp in Wrath of the Lich King. While some healers probably won’t want to wait all the way until the next expansion, could this be a hint that we’re looking at an Emerald Dream expansion, with an Arch Druid healing Hero Class, and an accompanying revamp of healing mechanics? Obviously, that’s a stretch, but it makes sense, doesn’t it?Ghostcrawler just popped up on the beta forums with some good news for healers: while tanking has gotten the focus lately in terms of mechanics and tweaking, healing is apparently next on the docket.

It’s nothing to hold your breath over (you’ll pass out way before we see any changes on the realms), but Ghostcrawler says that healing is due for a revamp in terms of “fun,” and while he says it’ll be “a more challenging fix because what people think is fun about healing varies and some people are pretty happy with it already,” he also hints that it’ll be a pretty big change. Right now, healing is basically whack-a-mole — when someone gets hurt, you cast a heal on them — but Blizzard may be rethinking that mechanic completely. We’ll have to wait (probably quite a while) and see.

How Blizzard forgot to include such a simple product in their stores, made to protect our memories of such a grand event, escapes me. However, this oversight has allowed me to craft a frame reminiscent of the icy chill soon to takeover what’s left of our social lives, Wrath of the Lich King.Every Thursday, Shelbi Roach of The Bronze Kettle guides you in creating WoW-inspired crafts using real world mats with World of WarCrafts.

This year I was fortunate enough to attend BlizzCon, and while my experience ranked right up there with getting a Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas, there was one thing missing. A picture frame.

Here is what you will need:

  • Blue Glitter Flakes
  • Photo Paper
  • Overlaminate Sheet
  • Mod Podge
  • Unfinished Photo Frame
  • Balsa Wood Sticks
  • Wood Saw
  • Spray Paint (you may have some leftover from crafting the Cataclysm’s Edge)
